Creating Docker CT
Start by creating a new CT in proxmox.
I used CT ID 201 to display it at the top because its the first entry point for every request to the server.
Later I also assign VLAN101 to the opnsense.
Click on the Create CT button above and set the LXC Container with the following values.
I left all values that were not specified as they were or were not specified at the time of creation.

After creating the CT we will add the vlan network aswell.
Now confirm the whole thing in the Confirm area and click on the finish button.
Please be patient for a moment until the CT is finished and “TASK OK” is displayed in the output console.
Node - proxmox
CT ID - 201
Hostname - Node1-Priv
Password - Set personal password
Confirm Password - Confirm personal password
Storage - local
Template - Choose your iso here
Disk size - 25 GiB (depends on the amount of docker container, you can go smaller and resize it later)
Cores - 2-open (I assigned most of my cores to the CT because I plan to run most of the services as docker containers)
Memory - 8192 MiB
Swap - 1024 MiB
Name - eth0
Bridge - vmbr1 (VLAN-Network)
VLAN Tag - 201 (The same as my container ID)
IPv4 - Static
IPv4/CIDR - 10.2.1.2/24
Gateway (IPv4) - 10.2.1.1
DNS domain -
DNS servers - 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare DNS-Server) or 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS-Server)
Post-Create
Now we will activate the Start at Boot Option.
To do this, we proceed as follows:
- Open your container (CT ID 201)
- Go to
Options > Start at Boot - Change to True
